Paula Scher.

Hello everyone! Today I going to write about Paula Scher in 3 main areas.

First of all, I’ll like to start with: “Who is Paula Scher?” Well, she’s a graphic designer and artist who specializes in typography. She was born on October 6 in 1948, in Washington. Her dad was a cartographer and her mother a teacher. In 1973 she married Seymour Chwast.

Secondly, I’d like look at her career.
Paula studied in School of Art Tyler in Pennsylvania. After getting married, Paula and Seymour moved to New York, where Scher started working in Penguin Random House, an Editorial. After that, she started her graphic design career in CBS Records in the 70s making works as the Boston album cover.
In 1984 she co-founded Koppel & Scher, and in 1991 she joined Pentagram as a partner, later she became be HQ director and has worked there to this day.

Finally, we can see some of her works as the Citi Bank logo, Tiffany & Co. logo and Windows 8 logo. And her most characteristic work are her maps where the country is covered in words, that aims to reflect society, a digital world oversaturated of signs and news.

I’d like finish by saying that I choose her because she is an inspiration for me, she’s passionate and enjoy what she does.
